As a mother of young children, I knew I couldn’t be the only one who yearned for colourful, practical, warm-yet funky-babyclothes and accessories. Unable to find any on the market, I put my background in art and Design to good use, and started kumbikids in 2002.
During one of my trips to Australia I discovered that ‘Kumbi’ is an Aboriginal word for Kangaroo pouch’. This struck me as an appropriate word to use for our products because they are as warm, comfortable and snuggly as a mother’s hug-or a Kangaroo’s pouch!
Working locally, I manage to fit designing and creating the Kumbikids range around taking care of the needs of my four sons. All Kumbikids products are handmade with love and lots of attention to detail-with (sometimes) willing boys to assist in the process. Everything we produce has been tried, tested and approved by several children and parents before being offered for retail- ensuring that you can shop with confidence.
